The Main Market (Polish: Rynek Główny) is Kraków's main square. The square dates from the 13th century. With an area of approximately 40,000 m², the square square is one of the largest medieval squares in Europe. The square is surrounded by palaces, churches and historic citizen houses (kamienice).
